Achievement overview

Hole Is Mine ships with 38 Steam achievements, and nearly all of them tie directly into the core loop of diving into the Hole, launching Mini'Ohs to mine, and growing the Village. Developer Incrementalist and publisher SpaceJazz designed the set to reward both early milestones and long-term collection goals, so you will unlock most of them without changing how you play. The list breaks down into a few clear groups:

  • Progress milestones: rescue Mini'Ohs, complete Caves, and free the Village.
  • Action counters: throw, destroy blocks, collect worms, use items, and clone.
  • Collection goals: gather every equipment type, fill all slots on one Mini'Oh, and rescue all Mini'Ohs.

There is one final story achievement, "Don't be a Hole", which unlocks when the Village is free and all your Mini'Ohs love you, plus the capstone "The Great Oh" for earning every other achievement. None of the achievements require multiplayer, since the game is strictly single-player, and the Save Anytime feature makes it easy to pause long sessions without losing progress.

The achievement set has no timed or missable unlocks. Every trophy is tied to cumulative actions, so you can safely play at your own pace and clean up leftover counters after the credits.

Tips for completionists

If you want to chase 100% achievement completion, the biggest challenge is not difficulty, it is volume. Three achievements in particular require sustained play: "Butterfly" (250.000 worms), "Blockbuster" (8500 blocks), and "Louis" (1666 throws). These will come naturally if you keep launching Mini'Ohs, but you can speed them up significantly with the right habits.

Here are the most effective habits to build early:

  • Spend loot immediately: opening boxes and using items counts toward the item-use achievements at 5, 66, and 222 uses. Using items early also fuels upgrades that speed up mining.
  • Clone on cooldown: the cloning achievement requires 333 clones, so start cloning as soon as the mechanic unlocks rather than leaving it for late-game cleanup.
  • Equip everything once: "Full closet" asks for one of each equipment type, so try on every Head, Back, Tool, Mask, Hair, Tentacle, Costume, and Skull you find instead of sticking with one loadout.
  • Keep every Mini'Oh geared: one achievement unlocks when a single Mini'Oh has all slots filled. This is easy to miss if you only equip your main miner.
  • Rescue in story order: rescuing the Butcher unlocks the Forge, the Sailor unlocks the Sea Shop, and the Builder unlocks the Mushroom Shop. Each shop adds new equipment and upgrades that feed the collection achievements.

"Auch!" is the one achievement you might not get naturally. Let yourself get stunned once during play; the description even jokes that you already have it once you are stunned. Since it is an early-game condition, grab it as soon as you can and move on.

For the long counter achievements, consider these pacing tips:

  • Worm farming: the worm achievements scale from 100 to 10.000 to 250.000. Prioritize upgrades that boost Mini'Oh yield per throw, and keep mining in short, focused sessions.
  • Block destruction: the block achievements run from 100 to 2000 to 8500. Deeper Caves contain denser block layouts, so the fourth Cave is the best place to farm the final counts.
  • Throwing: the throw counters at 88,777, and 1666 count every launch. Do not pause throwing while you manage other systems; keep the mining loop active.

Use the Stats feature to check your current counters. If a final achievement is close, focus one session on that single goal: throw repeatedly, mine dense Cave floors, or farm worms until the unlock pops.

Finally, the endgame achievements "Now this is a Team" (rescue all Mini'Ohs), "Full closet" (all equipment types), and "Don't be a Hole" (free the Village and earn every Mini'Oh's love) all converge near the same point. Once you have cleared all four Caves and rescued everyone, sweep the shops for any missing equipment, activate a Costume if you have not, and the last few achievements should fall into place. Then "The Great Oh" will celebrate your complete set.
